Maria Johnson LISW-S, ACHP-SW, has extensive experience in the field of social work, particularly within hospice care. Since September 2010, Maria has served as the Manager of Patient and Family Support Services and Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice of Central Ohio, where bereavement services are offered to patients, families, and the community through individual sessions and support groups. Additional experience includes a role as a Private Practice Therapist at Better Minds Group LLC since March 2016, focusing on EMDR and NeuroOptimal therapy, as well as previous positions in social work and management that began in 1998. Maria holds a Masters of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Social Science from Ohio University-Zanesville Campus.

Our patients have been the center of care since 1982 by offering personalized care and support to thousands of patients across Central Ohio. We believe that everyone should have access to end-of-life care regardless of their ability to pay, complexity of care, or severity of need. Working together, we can ensure that all eligible patients have a meaningful end-of-life experience and the opportunity to write the last chapter of their life regardless of the their disease, and pledge to provide access to our staff and programs 24 hours a day/seven days a week. Our team consists of highly dedicated and trained individuals that include physicians, registered nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors and trained volunteers. These individuals formulate a specific plan of care for each of our patients and their loved ones special needs. Our patients have the opportunity to receive quality, compassionate care at home, in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, hospitals, our Inpatient Care Center, or anywhere the patient calls home. Hospice of Central Ohio is Medicare/Medicaid certified and is covered by most insurance companies/carriers.
