Delores Hammond

Delores Hammond has a diverse work experience. From 1978 to 2002, they worked at Detroit Public Schools as an educator, sponsor for the student council, community activist, and tutor. Their role involved community relations, after-school tutoring, remedial reading, special education instruction, and organizational tasks.

In 2010, they started working at Hospice of Michigan as an Office Support Volunteer. Their responsibilities included making calls to patients to check on their well-being and meet their needs for medication, equipment, and supplies. delores also handled filing, mailing, charting, and participated in various events and grief support activities. delores continued their office support role until July 2011.

Delores Hammond began their education journey in 1979 at Madonna University, where they pursued a B.S. double Group major in Psychology and Sociology-Gerontology. delores successfully completed their degree in 1982. Later, in 1988, Delores enrolled at the University of Detroit Mercy to specialize in Reading, earning a degree in Education as a Reading Specialist in 1990.
