Volunteer Marriage And Family Therapist at Hospice of the North Coast

Heather Cargill, LMFT, CTRS, is a skilled marriage and family therapist and experiential therapy program coordinator with extensive experience in both clinical and recreational therapy settings. Since January 2019, Heather has worked at Hospice of the North Coast, providing assessments, treatment plans, and interventions for individuals, couples, and families utilizing EMDR and experiential modalities. Concurrently, Heather serves in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, coordinating experiential and recreation therapy programs that address the needs of veterans and families across various care areas, employing diverse interventions including equine therapy and mindfulness practices. Previous roles include recreation therapist at Sharp HealthCare, marriage and family therapy intern at Veterans Village of San Diego, and various positions within the U.S. Department of Defense. Heather holds a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Northcentral University and two Bachelor's degrees in Therapeutic Recreation and other fields from California State University, Northridge, and Eastern Washington University.
