Susan Cox has a strong background in the healthcare industry. Susan started their career as a Registered Nurse at Wesley Long Community Hospital in 1980 and later joined Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in 1983, where they worked as an RN until 2002. Susan then moved on to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, where they held roles such as Case Manager, Director of Palliative Care Services, and Chief Clinical Officer, spanning from 2002 to 2017. Susan currently holds positions at Hospice of the Piedmont, serving as Director of Clinical Services from 2017 to 2019, VP of Home and Community Based Services from 2019 to 2020, and currently serving as the Senior VP of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer since 2020.
Susan Cox earned their Associate Degree in Nursing from Rockingham Community College from 1978 to 1980. Susan then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduating in 1985. Later, they completed their Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nursing Administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1998 to 2001.
