Ken Carson

EVP Chemical Sciences at HotSpot Therapeutics

Ken Carson started their work experience in 1988 as a Summer Student at Johnson & Johnson. Ken then became a Summer Student at Merck in 1989. In 1995, they worked as a Senior Scientist at LeukoSite, Inc. and later became an Associate Director at Millennium Pharmaceuticals in 1999. From 2004 to 2014, Ken held the role of Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals. In 2014, they became the CEO of Macroceutics, Inc., which was later acquired by HotSpot Therapeutics, Inc. in 2019. Currently, Ken is the EVP Chemical Sciences at HotSpot Therapeutics, where they focus on developing first-in-class small molecules for the treatment of serious autoimmune and metabolic diseases.

Ken Carson received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Bucknell University, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Ken then pursued further education and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell University, where they studied from 1990 to 1995.
