Formed in 1965, the Housing Authority of Island County operates under the provisions of Washington State Law as written in the Revised Code of Washington Chapter 35.82 known as “The Housing Authorities Law”. The Housing Authority of Island County is not an entity of Island County government; but rather a separate entity, described as a State Special Purpose district as per the Washington State Auditor’s office.
