Benjamin van Couvering

Benjamin Van Couvering is a seasoned professional in affordable housing development, currently serving as a Senior Development Officer at HDC MidAtlantic since October 2021. In this role, Benjamin executes the organization's affordable housing development strategy, prepares Low-Income Housing Tax Credit applications, evaluates potential development sites, and manages the due diligence for loan and tax credit closings. Previously, Benjamin worked as an Associate Developer at Pennrose, where responsibilities included overseeing the entire LIHTC development process. Benjamin's experience also encompasses project management roles at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, where significant projects included green housing initiatives and storm recovery efforts. Throughout a diverse career that began with roles in economic development and technology project management, Benjamin holds a Master's Degree in Urban Policy Analysis from The New School and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Oberlin College.
