Alyssa Murray

Alyssa Murray currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Academics at Houston ISD since September 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Director and Engagement Manager at Ed Direction from April 2021 to September 2023, and as a Consultant at Bain & Company from August 2019 to April 2021. Alyssa began with Bain as a Summer Associate in 2018. From August 2012 to June 2017, Alyssa worked at KIPP Houston Public Schools, advancing from Assistant Principal to a 5th/6th Grade Math Teacher, where key contributions included managing a math and science team, creating a discipline program, and leading curriculum development efforts. Alyssa’s career also includes serving as a Corps Member and advisor for Teach For America and an intern at KIPP NYC. Educational qualifications include an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management (2017-2019) and a Bachelor's degree in History and Science from Harvard University (2008-2012).
