Tara Oakes

Tara Oakes is an experienced informal educator currently working at the Houston Museum of Natural Science since June 2018, engaging in a variety of educational activities such as planetarium operations and outreach programming. Previously, Tara was the Field Trip Program Coordinator at The Phoenix Zoo, which involved coordinating educational classes for home school students. Additional experience includes serving as a Community Coordinator for Arizona Project WET, Garden Educator at Desert Botanical Garden, and Camp Coordinator at Arizona Science Center, where Tara developed curriculum and managed educational programs. Tara's early career involved design work with Terra Tara Designs and as an Interior Designer at Savannah House, alongside graphic presentation work at Baldridge Landscape. Tara holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Houston.
