Michael Depland

Michael Depland is an experienced communications professional and freelance writer with a diverse background in media and journalism. Currently serving as Communications Manager at Texas Low Income Housing Information Service since February 2019, Michael focuses on issues affecting low-income households, editorial leadership for research, newsletter preparation, and social media strategy. Previously, Michael held various roles including Managing Editor of Music at UPROXX Media, where responsibilities included workflow management and editorial direction. Michael's career also features experiences at MTV Networks, Billboard, and Pitchfork Media in editorial and blogging capacities. Michael holds an M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Technical Communication from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
