Matt Thomas is a seasoned news professional with extensive experience in broadcasting and journalism. Currently serving as a News Anchor at Houston Public Media since July 2022, Matt guides the morning drive at the Texas Public Newsroom and appears on NPR across the state. Prior roles include Senior Content Editor/News at WFAA, Communications Director at Downtown Dallas, Inc., and Chairman of the Board for the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. With a background as a Broadcast Journalist/Manager at NewsRadio 1080 KRLD and experience covering significant events such as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Matt has honed skills in reporting, anchoring, and newsroom operations. Education was pursued at Marymount Manhattan College from 2002 to 2004.
