Phil Malek

Phil Malek is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in career advising, human resources, and conservation education. Currently serving as a CTE Career Advisor at Galveston ISD since April 2022, Phil focuses on guiding high school students toward career and technical education paths while developing community partnerships. In addition, Phil is an Executive Board Member at Houston Texas Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union and has been involved with the Houston Zoo's Education Department since April 2010, facilitating educational programs for various groups. Previous experience includes a role as Senior Human Resource Specialist and Classified Recruiter at the City of Houston Fire Department from June 2000 to April 2022, and service as a Combat Medic in the United States Army Reserve from January 1986 to January 1994. Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown, an Associate's Degree in Human Resources Development from Houston Community College, and is a member of HR Houston.
