Stephen Hardesty

Stephen Hardesty currently serves as Battalion Chief for Howard County Government, a position held since October 2015. In this role, Stephen oversees the Special Operations Team, which comprises 117 members and is equipped with various emergency response units, including two Engine companies, two Tower ladders, and multiple water rescue and hazmat resources. Additionally, Stephen has been an instructor with the University of Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute since 1996, contributing to the education and training of future fire service professionals.
