Allison Jessing has a diverse background in education and public programs coordination. Allison started their career in 2003 as a Reading Specialist at the Institute of Reading Development. Afterwards, they worked as a Public Programs Coordinator at the National Archives and Records Administration from October 2004 to June 2006. Following that, they joined the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery as a Public Programs Coordinator in June 2006 and stayed until February 2015. Most recently, they have been serving as the Head of Adult Curriculum at the Howard County Library System since February 2015.
Allison Jessing completed their education in a chronological manner. Allison first attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996 for a program in Painting. Allison then pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and New Media at the Kansas City Art Institute from 1998 to 2002. Following that, they enrolled at Boston University, where they obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Studies between 2002 and 2004.
