Maira Lazdins

Maira Lazdins, SPHR, currently serves as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Howard County Public School System, where responsibilities include developing a strategic plan for the department and leading workforce diversification efforts. Previously, Maira held multiple senior human resources roles at California College of the Arts, culminating as Vice President of Human Resources, overseeing areas such as compensation, benefits, recruitment, and employee relations. Maira's extensive experience includes positions at Sparkpr, T+C Resources, American University, and The Ford Agency, with a strong focus on recruitment, employee engagement, and strategic planning. Maira holds a Master’s degree in Organization Development from American University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Queen's University.
