James Spencer

James Spencer is an experienced laboratory manager at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, overseeing operations for a microbiology lab focused on bacterial cell wall biogenesis and morphogenesis since January 2019. Prior to this role, Spencer served as a Resident Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from August 2016 to December 2018, where responsibilities included implementing a residential curriculum for freshmen students. Additionally, Spencer was a Molecular Biology Research Assistant at the UMass Institute for Applied Life Sciences, conducting research on proteolytic mechanisms related to cellular stress. Spencer also held the position of Area Governor for the UMass Amherst Student Government Association, representing a significant population of undergraduate students.
