Laurel Royer

Laurel Royer is an experienced professional with a strong background in administrative support and event management. Currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Janelia Scientific Operations and Programs at Howard Hughes Medical Institute since December 2019, Laurel has previously held key roles such as Scientific Programs Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the Senior Director of Science & Training. Prior experience includes positions at Duke Cancer Institute as a Program Coordinator for Cancer Control and Population Sciences, and various roles at Duke University, Edelman Financial Services, and HomeAid Northern Virginia, among others. Laurel holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Old Dominion University and an Event Management Certificate from The George Washington University, further enhancing expertise in organizational and event planning skills.
