Andrea Simpson

Andrea Simpson has held various roles in the field of information security. Andrea most recently worked as the Chief Information Security Officer at Howard University since September 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at the Federal Communications Commission from October 2020 to September 2022. Andrea also worked as the Director of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Security Officer at the Corporation for National and Community Service from December 2016 to October 2020, and as a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst from June 2015 to December 2016. Andrea has experience in the military, having served as an Information System Security Manager in the United States Air Force from April 2013 to June 2015. Andrea also worked as an Information System Security Officer at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission from January 2013 to April 2013. Additionally, they have served as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Maryland Global Campus since March 2010.

Andrea Simpson obtained a Master of Science degree in Information & Telecommunications Systems: Information Assurance from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School in 2005.
