How you’ll contribute to the team:

As a Fire Protection Designer/Project Manager, you will work alongside other project managers using CAD equipment to prepare routine layouts, detail and assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams of fire sprinkler systems. Designers utilize their knowledge of various engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Your day-to-day will vary and may include job-site visits to verify existing conditions, producing submittal packages, producing system design criteria packets, producing system cut sheets for fabrication, and completing all job close-out requirements.

This position requires you to have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology. As a Designer/Project Manager, you will have mechanical aptitude and the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must. You should also enjoy working in a collaborative environment but have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well.

How you’ll qualify:

The ideal Fire Protection Designer/Project Manager will have at least an Associate’s Degree in computer aided drafting or equivalent experience and training. Additional experience in AutoSprink or Revit preferred.

What to expect in the office:

Fire Protection Designers/Project Managers mainly work in our office and must therefore be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. You may occasionally lift products or materials up to 15lbs and must be willing/able to attend active construction job-site visits as needed.
