Jorge Tordera Mora

Jorge Tordera Mora is a Senior Optical Scientist at HOYA Surgical Optics since January 2023. Previously, Jorge worked as a Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles from January 2020 to January 2023 and as an Optical Engineer at Apple from June 2022 to September 2022. Prior to their time at UCLA, Jorge was a Graduate Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign between August 2017 and January 2020, focusing on fabricating optoacoustic sensors and assisting in courses such as Introduction to Electronics and Biomedical Imaging. Jorge's early research at the University of Illinois also included developing machine learning algorithms for analyzing ultrasound images. Academically, Jorge holds a PhD from UCLA (2023), a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2020), a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution (2019), and a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de València (2017).
