Thijs van der Burgt

Thijs van der Burgt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Thijs is currently working as the VP of Product at HqO since June 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Managing Director Global Corporate Solutions at HqO, starting in October 2021 until June 2022.

Thijs has a strong background in entrepreneurship. Thijs co-founded Office App in 2015, serving as the CEO and Co-Founder until the company was acquired by HqO. Office App provided a unified employee platform and data analytics platform for office buildings, serving customers in 22 countries.

During their time at PROVADA from 2018 to 2020, Thijs served as an Advisory Board Member at Provada Future. Thijs was also involved with Euronext as a Techshare Participant from 2018 to 2019, where they gained knowledge of capital markets for tech companies.

Thijs has been actively involved in the Amsterdam startup community. Thijs founded the largest Amsterdam Startups community in 2012, which was later handed over to the City of Amsterdam in 2018. Additionally, they co-founded Frigg Digital, a creative technology agency, and Sproudly, a social platform for parents to share moments of their kids.

Earlier in their career, Thijs worked as a Financial Consultant at PMP Advies BV., where they handled accounting for SMEs and also set up an offshore office in Curaçao, handling various responsibilities such as business development and hiring employees.

Thijs van der Burgt began their education journey in 2004 when they enrolled at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Thijs dedicated five years to their studies and successfully completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics in 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Thijs has pursued various certifications to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. In July 2014, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance. Later, in May 2016, they participated in the Pi Labs Proptech Accelerator program offered by Pi Labs Property Innovation.

Thijs also earned the Certified Board Member certification from ScaleUpNation, which they obtained in December 2019. These additional certifications demonstrate Thijs's continuous commitment to expanding their expertise beyond traditional academic education.
