Ted Yelton started their work experience in 2012 as a Contract Editor at American Journal Experts. Ted then moved on to Wight & Company, where they worked as a Transportation Design Intern and later as a Transportation Engineer. In these roles, they created construction drawings, designed roadway elements, and calculated construction quantities for various projects.
In 2013, Yelton joined HR Green, Inc. as a Staff Engineer, analyzing interchange and intersection geometry alternatives using Vissim and Synchro software. Ted worked on projects involving diamond, cloverleaf, diverging diamond, and roundabout interchanges, as well as signalized, roundabout, continuous flow, and median U-turn intersections. Yelton later transitioned to the role of Project Engineer at HR Green, Inc.
Ted Yelton obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2010 to 2012. Ted further pursued their education at the same university and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering, completing their studies from 2012 to 2016. In 2016, they obtained the certification of Professional Engineer from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Additionally, in 2019, they obtained the certification of Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) from the TRANSPORTATION PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION BOARD INC.
