Franklin Monzon

VP, Microfabrication Technology Laboratory (MTL) at HRL Laboratories

Franklin Monzon has an extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 1999, they worked at Intel as a Quality and Reliability Engineer, where they specialized in modeling burn-in requirements for next-generation CPUs. From 2001 to 2007, Monzon was a Senior Technical Manager at Xponent Photonics, contributing to the development of novel technologies in silicon and indium phosphide. At Global Communication Semiconductors, where they served as VP of Operations and VP of Power Electronics from 2007 to 2013, they led a successful operations turnaround effort. Monzon co-founded Spectradyne LLC in 2013 and held multiple roles, including CEO and COO, contributing to the commercialization of a groundbreaking method of measuring submicron particles. Franklin also provided technical and business development consulting services as the Director of FM Consulting & Research. Most recently, in 2019, Monzon joined HRL Laboratories, LLC as VP of the Microfabrication Technology Laboratory (MTL). Overall, they have exhibited expertise in semiconductor operations, quality systems, and business planning across various industries.

Franklin Monzon has a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Caltech, an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Princeton University. Franklin also holds a certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt from ASQ - World Headquarters.
