Aloysius Tan

Aloysius Tan has a diverse range of work experience. Aloysius started their career in 2005 and 2006 as an intern at Citibank Singapore. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Research Officer at the Institute for Infocomm Research. In 2010, they joined Knorex as a Senior Knowledge Engineer and later became the Semantic Team Lead in 2011. Aloysius then worked at the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) as a Senior Systems Analyst from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they joined the Ministry of Communications and Information as Senior Manager of Data Analytics, where they also held positions as Assistant Director of Futures and Research until 2019. Aloysius then moved to the Ministry of Home Affairs as an Assistant Director of Data Science & AI for a brief period. In 2019, they joined HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency) as a Senior Data Scientist until 2021, when they were promoted to Head of Cognitive Analytics. Additionally, in 2021, they became a Member of the Artificial Intelligence Technical Committee (AITC) at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Overall, Aloysius has extensive experience in data science, artificial intelligence, research, and standardization in various organizations.

Aloysius Tan graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with Business Management from The University of Manchester in 2007. Prior to that, they studied Business Informatics at Nanyang Polytechnic from 1999 to 2002. In terms of additional certifications, Aloysius obtained the following: Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from Scrum Alliance in October 2023, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2022, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate from Microsoft in June 2021. Aloysius also holds various certifications related to machine learning, project management, digital product strategy, and other technical areas.
