Alex Araujo Aia

Alex Araujo AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP is a highly experienced architect with a diverse range of roles and responsibilities throughout their career. Alex currently serves as a Principal at Huckabee, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Director of Construction & Planning at Comal Independent School District from 2021 to 2023.

Alex's tenure at Huckabee began in 2016, initially as an Associate Principal and then as a Principal. With 19 years of experience, they bring a valuable perspective to the team, having worked on both the client side and as an architect and project manager. Their expertise lies in managing project scope, schedule, and budget, always prioritizing the needs of the clients. Alex has an extensive portfolio consisting of K-12, higher education, and professional development projects.

Before joining Huckabee, Alex held the position of Senior Project Manager at CBRE Healthcare from 2014 to 2016. Alex also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at BIM Texas Alliance from 2012 to 2014.

Earlier in their career, Alex worked at Texas A&M University System as an Area Manager Project Controls/Project Manager IV from 2010 to 2014. Alex also held roles at HPM as a Senior BIM Project Coordinator from 2009 to 2010, Perkins+Will as a Project Manager from 2007 to 2009, Kirksey as an Associate from 1998 to 2007, and PDG Architects as an Intern from 1997 to 1998.

Alex Araujo AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree with a minor in Studio Arts from the University of Houston between 1989 and 1996. Prior to that, they attended Bellaire High School from 1985 to 1989.
