About the role

We are seeking a talented part-time SEO writer to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping all families flourish by creating compelling, informative, and high-ranking articles in the field of child development and parenting. A successful candidate should have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, from creating new content to routine maintenance. They should have proven experience meeting technical requirements while maintaining a highly engaging writing style. 

Huckleberry’s content is trusted across the world. Everything we create is in collaboration with and medically reviewed by our team of experts, including pediatricians, OB-GYNs, sleep consultants, and more. Our content is always clear, informative, and compassionate, with a strong dose of relatability and humor.  

This is a fully remote, 20 hours-per-week (flexible hours), 12-month contract opportunity.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Write well-researched and expertly written articles related to child development and parenting
  • Implement SEO best practices in new and existing articles to meet rigorous search standards
  • Conduct interviews with pediatric experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of content
  • Adhere to our brand's tone, style, and editorial guidelines
  • Collaborate with content and SEO teams on optimization projects that align with our broader content strategy
  • Work on SEO technical projects that may include but not limited to the following: keyword research, meta descriptions, link building, etc.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of proven experience in SEO writing, preferably specializing in child development or parenting content
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEO best practices and technical skills
  • Strong sense of editorial voice
  • Content Management Systems (CMS) experience
  • Experience with and understanding of HTML

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $30 - $40 per hour dependent on experience
