Benjamin Sykes

Benjamin Sykes has a diverse work experience spanning over the past 16 years. Benjamin began their career in 2006, serving as a Marine Technician in the Royal Australian Navy. In this role, they took on various responsibilities related to equipment maintenance, WH&S compliance, and risk management. After leaving the Navy in 2013, Benjamin worked as a Maintenance Analyst at Goal Professional Services Pty Ltd for a brief period. Benjamin was responsible for coordinating and developing maintenance plans, as well as analyzing trends to enhance maintenance effectiveness. In 2014, Benjamin joined Halliburton as a Surface Solutions Engineer, where they liaised between Halliburton and customers to meet requirements. Benjamin also provided financial reports and handled equipment installation. Moving on, Benjamin worked as a Facilities and Building Services Manager at Goodman from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they managed a portfolio of commercial and industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with legislative and WHSE requirements. Benjamin then served as a Property Manager at Broadgate Estates from 2017 to 2018, followed by a role as a Facilities Manager at Trophaeum Asset Management Limited from 2018 to 2019. At both companies, they played key roles in managing facilities operations. Most recently, from 2019 to 2022, Benjamin worked as a Senior Facilities Manager at Work.Life. Their responsibilities included overseeing the facilities and day-to-day operations of 14 co-working and serviced office spaces, managing budgets, and serving as the first point of contact for building concerns. Benjamin's most recent role, starting in 2022, is as the Head of Facilities Management UK & Ireland at Huckletree.

Benjamin Sykes has a varied education history. Benjamin obtained a Year 12 degree from Pacific Pines State High School in 2006. Benjamin also completed a cert 4 in Engineering from TAFE NSW Higher Education. Additionally, they obtained another Year 12 degree from Pacific Pines High School. Benjamin further pursued their education at TAFE NSW Higher Education, where they obtained a cert 4 in Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene.

In terms of additional certifications, Benjamin Sykes achieved the Member Grade at IWFM (Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management) in November 2020.
