Prem Itharat

Prem Itharat has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Prem is currently the Global Head of Middle Office - Product Control at Hudson Bay Capital Management LP, a position they started in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Data Administration and Governance Manager at the same company from March 2022 to January 2023.

From 2016 to 2022, Prem Itharat was the Executive Partner at Apex HealthSync, LLC, a national Locum Tenens and Medical Staffing company. In this role, they managed and strategized the premier firm, focusing on matching medical professionals with facilities to provide excellent healthcare experiences.

Before their time at Apex HealthSync, Prem Itharat founded and served as the Financial Coach and Educator, as well as the Chief Investment Officer at PI Capital Management, LLC from September 2014 to March 2022. The company offered portfolio management, financial advisory services, and financial planning, with a specialization in serving young professionals through tax-efficient and early planning. Financial coaching and education were also important aspects of their services.

In 2013, Prem Itharat worked as the Chief Suit at WunderPonder LLC until March 2022. Previously, from 2008 to 2014, they held the position of Vice President at Highbridge Capital Management. In this role, they reported directly to the Director of Operations and was responsible for managing three groups: Data Management, Cash Reconciliations, and Corporate Actions. Prem also played a key role in evaluating market vendor relationships and building scalable operations and data infrastructure.

Prior to their time at Highbridge Capital Management, Prem Itharat worked at Merrill Lynch as the Assistant Vice President of Hedge Fund Integration Services, Data Management, and Pricing from December 2006 to February 2008. Prem headed the Data Management Group, which was responsible for daily valuations, security master information, and vendor data selection and acquisition. Prem also played a role in implementing operational infrastructure for new hedge fund entities.

From 2003 to 2006, Prem Itharat worked at Amaranth Group Inc. in various roles. Prem started as a Quantitative Risk Associate, maintaining and enhancing risk management reports and tools for the Credit Book. Prem then transitioned into the role of Assistant Manager, leading a team responsible for security master and pricing of an 8 billion dollar multi-strategy hedge fund. During their time at Amaranth, they collaborated on building processes and resolving discrepancies related to the fund's portfolio.

Earlier in their career, Prem Itharat worked as an Analyst at Deutsche Bank from October 2002 to July 2003, where they processed credit default swaps and resolved issues between the front office, back office, and counterparties. Prem also worked as a Consultant at Rabobank International from September 2001 to October 2002 and as the Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at Dokoto Corp from June 1998 to May 2001.

Prem Itharat completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics, Information Systems, and a minor in Psychology at NYU Stern School of Business. This four-year program took place from 1997 to 2001. Later, from 2006 to 2011, Prem pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the same institution, specializing in Quantitative Finance, Finance, and Strategy.
