Riyaz Papar

Riyaz Papar, P.E., CEM, currently serves as an Industrial Energy Efficiency & Decarbonization Advisor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since January 2024. With extensive experience at Hudson Technologies Company since July 2004, Riyaz holds roles as Engineering Fellow and Director of Engineering, where responsibilities include leading engineering and optimization projects for plant operations and refrigerant reclamation. Riyaz also served as Director of Global Energy Services, managing projects and the SMARTenergy OPS® platform, and contributed significantly to international energy efficiency initiatives. Previous roles include CEO of C2A Sustainable Solutions, an energy consultant, and positions at Enron, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Energy Concepts Company. Riyaz holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
