Drake Ong has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Drake began their career in 2010 as an Executive Recruiter at Russell Reynolds Associates, where they assisted in search execution for senior-level executive positions. Drake then moved on to salesforce.com, serving as a Technical Recruiter/Sourcer for the Technology Cloud division. At Uber, they held various roles, including Senior Recruiter for Asia Pacific and Tech Recruiting Manager for the East Coast & Toronto.
In 2019, Drake joined Boardspan Inc. as the Vice President of Client Solutions, focusing on reinventing board governance through innovative solutions. Drake later joined Reddit, Inc. in 2020 as the Head of Tech Recruiting, leading and expanding the global tech recruiting organization.
Currently, Drake is working at Human Capital as a Sr Principal, Talent. Drake is involved in investing in and building teams alongside technology founders driven to create long-term impact. Drake has also been seconded to SpaceX as the Executive Recruiting on a temporary basis.
Drake Ong attended Arizona State University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Criminal Justice and Political Science. In 2017, they obtained an Executive Leadership & Strategy Certification from Harvard Business School Online. Drake also completed an Emergency Medical Technician Basic program in 2010 at the San Francisco Paramedics Association. Prior to their university education, they attended Lowell High School from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, Drake Ong holds an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI, obtained in 2016.
