Linda Young

Director at HRDC

In September 2019, Linda was named an Emeritus of MSU’s Department of Political Science after retired as a Professor in May 2019. Linda earned her Ph. D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of California – Davis in 1987. Linda has proudly served on our Board since 2013.

Linda feels that HRDC inspires due to the sheer audacity of our vision, to provide those in need in our community with food, shelter, and a road to self-sufficiency, and to help young people have a good start. Linda loves serving on our Board, as it gives her a chance to contribute to the continuation of much needed services, to take risks on new approaches, to work with the our inspired staff, and to learn about the face of both challenge and opportunity here in our community.

In her free time, Linda loves to Nordic ski at Hyalite and Crosscut. Linda and her husband, Mark, also love to travel and spend time outdoors.
