Carlhey Bolz has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Carlhey is currently serving as Deputy Director of Global Business Engagement at the Human Rights Campaign, where they lead initiatives promoting LGBTQ-inclusive workplaces in Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Carlhey is also involved in various global and workplace-related projects. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Program Officer and Program Officer at IREX, focusing on the Leadership Practice program. Carlhey also served as Interim Supervisory Support for the African region and Project & Research Manager at WEConnect International, where they contributed to strategic partnerships and corporate engagement. Additionally, they had roles at Duke University, Duke Center for International Development, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Peace Corps, and Northern Trust, gaining experience in site coordination, teaching assistantship, international trade analysis, youth development project management, and pension fund accounting analysis.
Carlhey Bolz has a diverse education history. In 2003, they enrolled at the University of Arizona and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Psychology in 2007.
Later, starting in 2015, Carlhey pursued a Master of Arts degree in International Development Policy at Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy. Carlhey specialized in the field of International Relations and Affairs and completed their degree in 2017.
In addition to their formal education, Carlhey has obtained several certifications. In November 2014, they attained the status of an Advanced Spanish Speaker through the Peace Corps. In May 2017, they obtained certifications in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center, as well as in Latin American & Caribbean Studies from Duke University.
More recently, Carlhey has acquired multiple certifications in 2021. In February, they completed The Leadership Essentials Program from Florida International University. Additionally, in April, they gained knowledge in USAID Rules and Regulations: Grants and Cooperative Agreements through Humentum. In June, they enhanced their skills in International Policy Communication: Writing & Presenting for Impact from the Duke Center for International Development. Lastly, in July, Carlhey obtained the Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
