Associate Director Of HBCU Program at Human Rights Campaign

Chauna Lawson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2002, they worked as an Event Coordinator for The Mid Atlantic Professional D J Association, where they provided exceptional customer service and assisted couples with wedding planning. From 2015 to 2019, they served as an Operations/Program Associate for the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, where they coordinated meetings and conference logistics. In 2020, they worked as an Interim Program Specialist for the Delta Research and Educational Foundation, assisting with grant evaluation and providing technical assistance to grantees. In 2018, they founded HBCU Con, a community celebrating and bridging the gap between Historically-Black Colleges/Universities and Black geeks-at-large, where they currently serve as the President. Chauna has recently joined the Human Rights Campaign as an Associate Director of the HBCU Program in 2022.

Chauna Lawson graduated from Bowie State University in 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Chauna 'sfield of study focused on sociology during their time at this university. Additionally, Chauna obtained a Certificate in Social Media Management from Georgetown University. The duration of their studies at Georgetown University is not provided.
