Luis Vasquez

Luis Vasquez has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Luis is currently serving as a Senior Legal Writer at the Human Rights Campaign since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Staff Attorney at The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law from August 2019 to November 2022. Luis gained valuable experience as a Summer Associate at the US Government Accountability Office in the summer of 2018. Luis also worked as a Legal & Public Affairs Diversity Extern at Anthem, Inc. from January 2018 to April 2018. Luis began their legal career as a Summer Law Clerk at the Los Angeles HIV Law and Policy Project from May 2017 to July 2017. Preceding this role, Luis served as a Legal Assistant at Woods Erickson & Whitaker LLP from December 2014 to July 2016. Luis started their career as a Paralegal at the Law Offices of James J. Smedley, Esq. in July 2010 and continued until November 2014.

Luis Vasquez obtained their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law, from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology, with minors in Criminal Justice and Film Studies, at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, from 2011 to 2016.
