Rebecca Soroka is a Senior Staff Attorney at Human Rights First, serving since November 2018. Prior roles include Staff Attorney positions at the African Services Committee and New York Legal Assistance Group, as well as Pro Bono Foreclosure Attorney at the New York City Bar Association, where legal assistance was provided to low-income homeowners facing foreclosure. Rebecca's earlier experience encompasses work as a Contract Attorney with Providus Group and an Immigration Law Clerk at the University of LaVerne College of Law, contributing to a successful Special Immigrant Juvenile Status case. Additionally, Rebecca gained law clerk experience with the Los Angeles District Attorney and served as a Volunteer at the Superior Court of California. Legal research and advocacy were further developed while assisting The Honorable Paul Egly and acting as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Educational qualifications include a JD from the University of La Verne and a BA in International Relations/Political Science from The University of British Columbia.
