Zara Rancheva is a skilled researcher and development professional with experience in human rights, monitoring and evaluation, and academic support. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Human Rights Foundation, Zara conducts comprehensive research on electoral competition, freedom of dissent, and judicial independence while contributing to the Tyranny Tracker Project and coordinating speakers for the Oslo Freedom Forum 2023. Previously, as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer at the Bulgarian Fund for Women, Zara developed monitoring frameworks and authored progress reports on grant-making programs. Zara's earlier roles include Fundraising and Development Manager at The CORPluS Foundation, and Teaching Assistant at Tufts University. Zara holds a Master of Science in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Tufts University, complemented by studies at the University of Oxford.

Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that promotes and protects human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies. We believe that all human beings are entitled to freedom of self-determination, freedom from tyranny, the rights to speak freely, to associate with those of like mind, and to leave and enter their countries.
