Richard Weir

Richard Weir is a Senior Crisis and Conflict Researcher at Human Rights Watch, a position held since January 2020, having previously served as a Researcher in the same field at the organization from September 2016 to August 2018. Before that, Richard worked as a Legal Advisor at Diakonia from September 2018 to December 2019. Richard holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UCLA. Richard has received recognition for contributions to the field, including being awarded the Alan R. and Barbara D. award.
