Dana Lustbader MD currently serves as the Regional Medical Director at Humana since June 2024. With an extensive background in critical care, Dana has been a Professor of Medicine and Intensivist at Northwell Health since July 1994, previously holding the position of ICU Chief and specializing in Multi-Organ Failure and Sepsis. Dana's contributions include founding Northwell’s first supportive oncology clinic and palliative care consult service, growing services to over 3,000 patients annually, and establishing one of the nation’s first dedicated inpatient Palliative Care Units. Additional leadership roles include serving as Regional Medical Officer at Optum, Regional Medical Director at Landmark Health, and founding the Department of Palliative Care at ProHEALTH. Dana's education includes a Doctor of Medicine from the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
