Shuo Zhao

Shuo Zhao is an accomplished medicinal chemist with extensive experience in drug discovery and development. Currently serving as a Sr. Principal Medicinal Chemist and Leader of Medicinal Chemistry at Humanwell Pharmaceutical US, Inc. since April 2021, Shuo Zhao leads internal and external chemistry teams, formulating strategies for drug discovery projects from initial identification to candidate nomination. Previously, Shuo Zhao held positions as an Organic Chemist and Site Head at AffinSci, Inc. and Annova Chem, and as Scientist II at Biogen Idec. Shuo Zhao's earlier career includes a role as Senior Research Scientist at Ligand Pharmaceuticals, contributing to significant advancements in multiple drug programs. Shuo Zhao earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Master of Science in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Zhejiang University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Zhejiang University.
