Sara Ashour

Sara Ashour is a PhD candidate and researcher at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, contributing to the Regional Centre for Sustainable Adaptation to Global Change in the Middle East (SAGE-Centre) since April 2022. In 2023, Sara served as an Agriculture Policy Analyst for the FAO. With extensive experience in trade policy, Sara worked as a Senior Trade Policy Analyst and a Trade Policy Analyst at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade from April 2012 to September 2022. Additional roles include a Trade Expert at the International Trade Centre, Project Associate at the International Labour Organization, MENA Region Consultant for the University of St.Gallen, Trade Advisor at the Trade Council of Denmark, and an intern at the German Development Institute. Sara's educational background includes a PhD in Agriculture Economics and Governance from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, an M.A. in Development and Governance from the University of Duisburg-Essen, and a B.A. in Political Science from Cairo University.
