Saba Al Mubaslat is a board member at Humentum. Saba was previously the CEO of The Asfari Foundation from May 2019 to April 2022. The Asfari Foundation is a grant-making charity set up by Ayman and Sawsan Asfari in 2006. Its vision is for a world where people actively work together to create productive, inclusive and just societies. Its mission is to educate young people from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and the UK and to strengthen civil society organisations in their communities. The Foundation makes grants to international, national and local organisations and universities and research centres through three programmes: Civil Society, Youth Empowerment and Relief. In 2019 it is funding projects located in Lebanon, the UK, Palestine/Israel, and a few in Syria, Turkey and Jordan.
Prior to their time at The Asfari Foundation, Al Mubaslat served as the CEO of the Humanitarian Leadership Academy from September 2015 to April 2019. The Humanitarian Leadership Academy is an independent organisation that provides education and training for humanitarian workers with the aim of improving the quality of humanitarian response. It has a presence in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.
From March 2012 to August 2015, Al Mubaslat served as the Country Director for Save the Children International in Lebanon. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all aspects of Save the Children’s work in Lebanon, including programme design and implementation,
Saba Al Mubaslat has a Master of Arts in Strategic Planning and Programming from Framingham State University in Boston, Massachusetts, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Jordan University in Amman, Jordan, and a Women in Leadership from INSEAD. Saba also has an Executive Leadership Programme from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
