Iraq Country Security Manager at Hunt Oil

Darby Avant has extensive work experience in security management and interagency operations. They started their career as a SEAL R&S/Sniper Element Leader in the Naval Special Warfare Development Group from 1991 to 1999. They then served as a SEAL Interagency Operations Specialist, first at USSOCOM from 1998 to 2001, and later at SOCCENT from 2001 to 2004, where they established the SOC's presence in Yemen.

In 2005, Avant joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a GS-15 Personnel Recovery Program Manager, where they developed and managed the Bureau's Personnel Recovery and Reintegration Policies and Plans.

From 2011 to 2015, Avant worked for Hunt Oil Company as the Yemen Country Security Manager, responsible for the security of company assets and personnel in Yemen. They later served as the Benin Country Security Manager from 2013 to 2015, and as an International Security Advisor in the Kurdish region of Iraq in 2013.

In 2016, Avant became the Iraq Country Security Manager at Hunt Oil Company, overseeing all security matters in Iraq. Their responsibilities included conducting risk assessments and maintaining the Company Security Manual.

Some of the certifications include UK OFQUAL Level 5 Award in Organizational Resilience from the ISRM - Institute of Strategic Relationship Management, CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor from EMS Safety Services, National Registry and Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care-Medical Providers from 911 TACTICAL LLC.

In addition, Darby Avant holds the following professional certifications: Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International, Physical Security Professional (PSP) from ASIS International, and NEBOSH International Oil and Gas from NEBOSH.
