Mike Gerdes has over 35 years of work experience in various engineering roles. Mike began their career as a Manufacturing Project Engineering Co-op at Moog Automotive in 1985. Mike then worked as a Packaging Engineering Co-op and later as a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op at the same company. In 1987, they interned as a Manufacturing Engineering Process Control Intern at White Rodgers Div. From 1988 to 1990, they served as a Product Design Engineer and later as a Tool Design Engineer at Moog Automotive. During their time there, they were responsible for designing test and manufacturing equipment and processes. Mike also specified, purchased, and set up equipment for salvage machining and centerless grinding. In 1993, they joined Hunter Engineering Company as an R&D Engineer-Mechanical. Mike worked on the design team responsible for developing the revolutionary wheel balancer and vibration reduction product, GSP9700. Mike later became the Manager of R&D Engineering, overseeing research and development, product design, and support for various automotive service equipment. In December 2019, they took on the role of Director of Research Development Engineering at Hunter Engineering Company, leading the top equipment design team in the industry. Throughout their career, Mike has been involved in product innovations, cost analysis, and has demonstrated strong leadership skills.
Mike Gerdes earned their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1984 to 1988.
