Joe LaRocca is an accomplished musician with extensive experience in both onstage and pit performances across theatrical productions. Currently serving as an On Stage Musician for "The Band’s Visit" at The Huntington, Joe has also performed as a freelance pit musician in multiple theaters, participating in notable productions such as "Mary Poppins," "Matilda," and "The Music Man," primarily on reed 1 parts. Previous roles include onstage musician for "The Lehman Trilogy" and "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," performing various woodwind instruments. Joe's leadership experience includes serving as Executive Director and Director of Personnel for the Du Bois Orchestra. Joe holds an Artist Diploma from Longy School of Music, a Master of Music from Northern Illinois University, and a Bachelor of Music from Columbia College Chicago, all emphasizing flute performance.
