Dalton Jenkins

Trustee at Huntington University

Dalton Jenkins is the current Trustee at Huntington University. Prior to this, they served as the Controller at a private lease finance company from January 1998 to June 2020. In this role, they oversaw a broad range of financial functions in the Accounting / Finance department, supervised and mentored a team of 19 (including 5 direct reports), and managed benchmarks/covenants to measure financial and operational performance. Dalton was also responsible for evaluating the accounts and profitability of 10 departments and 13 subsidiaries.

During their time at the private lease finance company, Dalton made several key contributions and achievements. Dalton developed and implemented a reporting package that created easy access and user-friendly financial reporting, policies, procedures, controls, and systems. This automated transactions across all companies, types of sales, and countries (U.S., U.K., Canada) and reduced month-end GL entry from 2 weeks to 1 day (daily automated posting). Dalton also led the application of new FASB laws that required a 10-year restatement of FS. Dalton completed the restatement and 2012/2013 audits in 6 months (required for funding from major bank).

In addition, Dalton was hand-selected to manage the HR department following the departure of the CFO. Dalton advised against outsourcing HR, with the plan being accepted and implemented by upper management. This generated $100,000 in annual savings through avoidance of outsourcing. Dalton also recommended the use of FRx Report Writer accompanied by MAS
