Ian Wu

Ian Wu has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Ian currently holds a concurrent role as the Group Chief Commercial Officer (Interim) at HUONE Meeting and Event Venues, where they work closely with the Founder to enhance the sales and marketing teams across Denmark and Finland. In this role, they focus on market analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and optimizing performance.

Prior to this, Ian was the Co-Owner and CEO of HUONE Singapore, where they successfully turned around the business and drove growth in a competitive market. Ian implemented a comprehensive turnaround plan and managed all aspects of the business, from strategy to operations and stakeholder engagement.

Ian has also held leadership positions at organizations such as the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) as Vice President Digital and Innovation, and the Finnish Business Council Singapore as a Board Member & Honorary Secretary.

In terms of previous experience, Ian has held various roles at SingEx, where they worked in sales, project management, and director-level positions. Ian was responsible for spearheading business re-engineering efforts, launching successful events, and managing P&L to achieve revenue targets.

Earlier in their career, Ian was a Business Owner at Live for Knowledge Pte Ltd, wherein they developed and sold motorcycle accessories worldwide. Ian successfully grew the business and expanded its market reach.

Ian began their career in the Singapore Armed Forces, where they held a variety of roles, including Organising Secretary for the Heartland Celebrations Committee for the Singapore National Day. Ian successfully managed large-scale events and served as a liaison with key partners.

Ian Wu obtained a Certificate in Selling and Sales Management from LCCI International Qualifications in 2005. In 2006, they received certifications in Coaching for Performance Development and Facilitating Effective After Action Reviews from the Ministry of Defence of Singapore. From 2007 to 2008, they enrolled at NCC Education, Thames Business School and completed an International Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. Then, from 2008 to 2010, they pursued their Undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Wales, Cardiff. Lastly, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
