Gamini Chandrasena has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. From 2016 to present, they have worked at Hurley Consulting Associates Ltd. as Senior Director of Scientific Affairs, providing project and regulatory filing support in areas such as ADME, pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, toxicology, and bioanalysis for nonclinical and clinical studies. From 2003 to 2016, they worked at Lundbeck Research, USA in various roles including Director of Molecular Pharmacology, Bioanalysis & Operations, Director of Bioanalysis & Physiology, Director of Chemical Sciences & Pharmacokinetics, Director of Chemistry, and Associate Director of Chemistry. From 1999 to 2003, they worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as Senior Research Investigator and Research Investigator. From 1996 to 1999, they worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics.

Gamini Chandrasena has an extensive education history. Gamini began their studies in 1980 at Washington State University, where they earned a BS in Microbiology/Chemistry (minor). Gamini then continued their studies at The University of Texas at Dallas, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) in Molecular Biology in 1986. Following this, they attended the University of Houston, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1993. Finally, they completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Washington in 1996, specializing in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics.
