Jenny manages HB Get Started, Husch Blackwell’s firmwide initiative designed to provide hands-on experience for associates through engagement with early-stage businesses and the organizations that support them. Associates with at least one year at the firm are eligible to participate in the program, which actively pursues opportunities to engage with entrepreneurs and founders through sponsorship, speaking engagements, content creation and the provision of legal services. Jenny’s role is to help associates put into real world practice the skills they’ve learned from partners and the firm’s professional development programs.
Jenny has long been passionate about entrepreneurship and its impact on both local communities and the broader economy. She’s excited about the contribution new businesses make to the cultural fabric of their cities, and she finds great satisfaction in helping entrepreneurs thrive. Prior to joining the firm, Jenny served as a senior director for KCSourceLink, an initiative of University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Innovation Center. She worked with thousands of entrepreneurs each year, connecting them with resources and organizations to help them found and grow their businesses with the goal of making Kansas City a national center for entrepreneurship.
After nine years in entrepreneurial ecosystem development, Jenny joined Husch Blackwell, eager to see a law firm seeking to expand engagement with early-stage founders. She has been particularly excited to see the great passion attorneys have for their work and to help them pour that passion into early-stage businesses, connecting them with projects that will grow their careers, assist local entrepreneurs and develop their communities.
