Matthew Aiken

Application Engineer at Hussey Seating Company

Matthew Aiken has a diverse range of work experience. Matthew began their career at Wood Structures Inc. as a Senior Designer, where their responsibilities included reviewing architectural plans and producing cost-effective engineered roof and floor systems. Matthew used various software programs to design trusses and I-joist and LVL systems.

Matthew then worked at Fastenal as an Outside Salesman, where they traveled to different locations to meet with customers, display products, and manage vendor inventory.

Afterwards, they joined Bath Iron Works as a Designer Class 1E. In this role, they used CAD software to design foundations for equipment on US Navy destroyers, and also served as a mentor to colleagues in the structural department.

Most recently, Matthew has been working at Hussey Seating Company. Matthew started as a Technical Specialist, producing seating detail drawings and layouts using AutoCAD. Due to their high-quality work, they were promoted to Engineering Technician and later became the lead draftsman and secondary technical point of contact for a new product line.

Overall, Matthew has a strong background in engineering and design, with experience in sales and mentorship as well.

From 1999 to 2005, Matthew Aiken attended Southern Maine Community College, where they pursued a degree in Engineering & Design Graphics. During this time, they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree.
