Joann Ransom

Joann Ransom currently serves as Chair of the Public Libraries of New Zealand and Head of Neighbourhood Hubs and Library Services at Hutt City Council. With extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, Joann has previously held roles such as COVID Community Supported Isolation and Quarantine Coordinator at MidCentral District Health Board and Managing Consultant at RIGHT HAND ASSOCIATES NZ. Joann's expertise encompasses community development, performance assessment, and business planning, having served as Community Development Manager at Palmerston North City Council and Chief Executive Officer at Te Horowhenua Trust. With a strong foundation in library services, including previous positions as Head of Libraries and Deputy Head of Libraries, Joann emphasizes the importance of strategic planning, collaboration, and community-focused initiatives. Joann holds a Certificate in Computer Network Administration from UCOL and has participated in governance education through the Governance Institute of Australia.
